News Workshop on EGNOS performance and applications
An international workshop on European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service performance and applications will be held in Gdynia, Poland on 27 and 28 October 2005. The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) is the first European step into satellite navigation. It is a joint initiative of the European Space Agency, the European Commission and Eurocontrol - the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation. EGNOS is a precursor to Galileo, the global satellite navigation system currently under development in Europe.
The workshop is an annual meeting devoted to the satellite based augmentation system EGNOS. The aim of the seminar is to bring together the European EGNOS community, review the present situation and status of the service and foster international cooperation in the development of EGNOS applications.
The EGNOS Workshop is organized by the European Space Agency, the Polish Galileo Information Point at the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Navigation and Hydrography of the Naval University of Gdynia.
